It all started in 2001.....

One fine day in or around Jan./Feb. of 2001 I met this most interesting Australian fellow online. Now, keep in mind, I've chatted with lots & lots of folks, but this one was different. As our friendship grew & grew, and as we came to know one another from the inside out, he announced that he would like to come for a visit (I really didn't expect to meet him ever). To my suprise, not only did he come for a visit, he also came to work (at the local zoo) with me every day while he was here (1 month). In this month, we had the most awesome time and our love for each other just grew form then on. He then proposed to me a week before he was due to leave,...and of course the answer was "yes". Now he had serious business to see about when he went home; he sold his home, vehicles, etc. in a matter of 9 days and was back to me with only 2 suitcases and a backpack with 200 cd's and a heart filled with love for myself and my boys.
In Sept. 2001 we started our life together; while I won't go into the difficulties of new relationships with children, I'll just say it was worth every step of the way :-) Regardless of the normal obsticales of new beginnings, we bought a home, got married (in our new backyard), and I quit my job and started a new one before the end of the year. However, the new job didn't work out too good, so I quit and we started a business. In 2002 Zoo-Zoom "The Little Zoo on Wheels" was born and has grown into a reputable business. In the midst of things we saw the need for an exotic rescue org. (a place for displaced exotic pets); therefore Zoo-Zoom's E.A.R. was created. Today, we house 200+ small exotic animals and we live on less then an acre of land. We hope to one day become non-profit and will be able to recieve grants and donations to improve and better provide for these beautiful animals.
